Hi all. I just installed a new ADSL modem/WiFi router from my ISP and now the Mini I have connected to the ADSL modem via ethernet cable has no Airport signal. With the previous ADSL modem/WiFi router I had to use internet sharing over airport from the Mini in order to get WiFi on my other computers. The old modem had WiFi, but I could only get one computer to connect to it, for all the other computers I just used internet sharing. The new modem/WiFi router will let all my computers onto the network, which is great.

My problem is that I use Mobile Air Mouse to use my iPhone as a mouse for the Mini. Since the modem/router upgrade I can't do that.

The symptoms are this:
there are no signals bars in the Airport icon
when I click on the Airport icon it says Airport not configured
When I go into network prefs and try to configure the Airport it says the Status is Inactive. Turn Airport Off is shaded. If I select my router's network name and enter the WEP key and click Apply I get the message AirPort does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the Internet.

I suppose this is because I am already connected to the Internet via Ethernet. But how come I can't use internet sharing over Airport anymore? It was a very useful feature.

By the way, I just tried removing the ethernet cable and connecting only by Airport. Same situation. No signal bars in the AirPort icon, etc.

Thanks

additional info
If I go into Sharing and select Internet Sharing I get a message that says: You cannot start Internet Sharing because you have not selected a port over which to share your connection.

The only option I get from the pulldown menu is Ethernet, whereas previously there was an AirPort option as well.

Also, from the AirPort Card part of System Profiler:
Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x168c, 0x86)
Wireless Card Firmare: 1.4.16.2
Current Wireless Network: AirPort is currently turned off

My mother's new Mini is having a similar problem all of a sudden. No problems before, but she can't connect to our wireless network anymore. Ethernet fine, but it is saying there's no IP address and when she puts in the CORRECT password for our network, it just says incorrect password or asks her to put in the password again, over and over.

Anything on this?

I have no clue what to do other than Erase and Install her new Mini to factory settings. The hell?

Khyrz - yes, that is the point I am at now, too, but I haven't had time to do it. I find it funny that my problem cropped up with the modem change, but maybe just coincidence. Please put a post up if you have any luck. I'll do the same.
