I just purchased my first Mac, a Mini Core Solo, and for the lowest of the low end I sure am amazed! I love my new computer and everything has been smooth sailing for a week now. I have a Netgear WGR614 wireless router and the built in airport card has had no trouble until now connecting to it. Yesterday, it said I was connected but I couldn't access the internet. I looked in the settings panel and it said the Airport card had assigned its own IP and I wouldn't be able to access the internet. I know the router is not the problem because the computer right next to it running Windows XP was connected and the Mini itself could connect when running XP. I'm pretty sure it's an issue with the settings for the card in OS X and would like to just delete them and start over. The problem is, I don't know how to do that. If anyone could push me in the right direction or if you know another solution any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

click on the airport logo on the top bar and see if your conected to another wifi base station ?

also check in airport settings that you are using DHCP and not a static ip address

or failing that reboot your mac - always works for me

I've tried all of the things you mentioned already. I even tried reserving an IP address for the computer in my router with no luck. Something I didn't mention that might be helpful, I did have WPA encryption and thought that might be it so I diabled it and still nothing. I think I may have changed a setting on accident or maybe something I installed did but I everything looks ok to me.

Is the router set for DHCP?

I would reset the router to it's factory settings.

To Reset

To restore the factory default configuration settings without knowing the administration password or IP address, you must use the Default Reset button on the rear panel of the router.
1.Press and hold the Default Reset button until the Test LED turns on (about 10 seconds).
2.Release the Default Reset button and wait for the router to reboot.

Get both computers connected.

Then I would futz around with the settings and security.

The default IP address for the router is http://192.168.0.1/
The default logon is Admin, and the password is password.

The manual is linked above.
