Hi there,
I thought I'd ask fellow Apple owners if they've had the same issues I'm currently experiencing.
I bought my 27" iMac in September 2010 and almost immediately noticed that Airport wouldn't stay connected to my network. I've spoken with Apple on a number of occassions. They've suggested clearing my cookies, and deleting the System Configuration folder to resolve. At first this did initially solve the problem but after a few days it'd begin again. Most recently they've had asked me to use the Ping check thingy, which I did over the course of 12 hours. Some sites came back with all packets returned some with zero. Following this test they suggested that it was in fact my wireless connection that's the issue. I live in a city, and there are 12 plus networks that could be the problem.
So based on that I've been changing and testing the channel my modem is on, but still I'm having the same issues. I'll start up the mac in the morning and within about 5 mins the connection will fail. Network Preferences will time out after I enter my password, and the only way to reestablish a connection is to restart, but again it'll lose connection.
I'm trying to run my business, and I seem to be spending more time speaking to Apple and my ISP then clients at the moment.
Aside from the above I've also tried opening Network Utility and clicking on Netstat, this again seems to sort out the problem but only for a short time.
If anyone can advise me, it'd be greatly appreciated. I don't know whether to return it to Apple so they can try to resolve the issue or not.
Many thanks
