Airport open while ethernet cable connected which takes priority?

Hi

I'm having to have airport open, (whilst having my usual ethernet cable connected to my imac), to stream itunes or spotify to my airport express. If I want to surf while streaming to the airport express which will take priority? The faster ethernet connection or the airport connection? Are they both connected at the same time? Or if I have the airport switched on it automatically cuts off the ethernet connection?

By default Ethernet takes priority. You can go into Network Preferences, click the pull down menu underneath the Network services, and select Set Service Order... if you want to change or check which gets priority.
