Using G3 iMac 450, TiBook 1GHz 10.3.2 on both. Connecting to the internet via D Link ethernet, using Airport. Every six or seven minutes or so, when loading an internet page or two all will freeze, as if the connection has been lost or blocked, before either timing out or loading after a break of 60 to 90 seconds. Neither Airport or the Ethernet offer any error messages - and this is very annoying. Can anyone offer a few pointers?

Cheers

My first guess is regular interference with the AirPort connection is causing the problem. Try checking the 'use interference robustness' item in the AirPort menulet and see if that helps. Also check your signal strength. Is it dropping out suddenly? If it is, this is a clear sign of interference.

That might help but I find that "use interference robustness" just weakens my signal. I recommend changing your channel. It's probably set at 6 right now. Your neighbor's or your own 2.4GHz cordless phone is probably getting in your way.

Thanks for your replies. I will try changing the channel, as I do have a cordless phone.

you might check to see that you have the most up to date firmware on your router. http://support.dlink.com/ that is if the channel change doesnt work. thats the first thing i did when i installed my dlink router was to change the channel, so i do not know if there was ever a problem with my cordless phone.
