I have the last rev. 12" PB and was wondering if there was anything that i could do to improve the reception of the internal airport card. Walking around the library, I often find myself with no reception while other laptops such as the Dell s have perfect signal strength.

Unfortunately the iBooks have always dominated when it comes to signal range. Their casing doesn't hinder the aiport, whereas the PowerBook and MacBook Pro casings do. The latter computers have less of this, but whenever I had my girlfriends iBook and my PowerBook G4 12" side by side I would have two bars of signal and she'd be full. My new MB Pro does seem to be much better than the 12" tho. So I guess there is your expensive solution. Upgrade to a shiny new one! Cheers, Tom

Canada, eh?
Yeah, I envy my brother and his (plastic) MacBook. At my sister's apartment he can see, literally, 6-10 wireless networks, at the same time that I see just one with my 12" PowerBook.

I've been meaning to upgrade for some time (and Core Duo MacBook refurbs are as cheap as ever) but I need all the money I can save for my new house...
