Ever since updating to ElCap, I've been noticing some strangeness with AirPort Utility 6.3.6.

If I open up AP Utility, my 4th generation Time Capsule is only being recognized about half the time.
But if I use the "Configure Other..." menu and put in the IP address, I can connect to it every time.

I've tried a hard reset of the TC, and deleted the AP Utility prefs, but the strangeness continues.

Anybody else notice similar problems ?

I haven't been too crazy about AP Utility since they dumbed it down a few versions back, but I still have to use it from time to time, so it's kind of a pain with the extra steps.

Talking to myself here, this does not appear to be fixed in 10.11.1 since AirPort Utility still shows as ver. 6.3.6 and still only connects to my TimeCapsule about 1/2 the time.

Thought I'd pass along a workaround though.
AirPort Utility 6.3.5 from Yosemite still works like a champ (connects every time and all functions work).

If you need to use AirPort Utility, and can roll back from a TimeMachine backup, just back up 6.3.6 and restore 6.3.5.
Hopefully this helps someone else.

Same issue here. Pretty much every time i start airport utility.
If you have an iPhone you can also access your routers through iOS. No issues there.
Turning wifi on and off on OSX also solves it for me.
