Okay, I really like my iPad, but reality is rearing it's ugly head. THERE IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH THE WI-FI SOFTWARE!!!!! It works great at home with my Airport Extreme, but I am reading more and more reports of an inability to connect to "strange" wi-fi locations, like airports etc. Apparently the Internet signal is detected, but doesn't satisfy certain iPad requirements to actually connect. Apple must address this problem. Please relate your airport experience here, or other public wi-fi access points that you have problems connecting to.

So have YOU, PERSONALLY actually EXPERIENCED an issue at an Airport yourself?

I fly more or less every day of my life, so that means airports and hotels every day, and I have yet to have a problem logging in or connecting at any airport or hotel so far. Since the 7th when I bought it, I've been at HNL, ORD, GSO, YVR, YYC, DFW, IAH and every single one has been fine

This would lead one to believe that there was a bad batch of WiFi radios that got installed as not all iPads are affected.

As someone who travels a lot, and has friends who travel a lot, haven't heard anything like this on the iPad yet.

That said, there have been a couple of times I've been in smaller airports (ex: MLI in the Quad Cities) and had problems accessing email accounts via Mac Mail, due to blocked ports. Seems the smaller the airport, the more over-the-top the security gets.

maybe it requires manual ip settings, did u check ur ip settings when it doesnt work, is it in the 169.254.x.x range ..

for all your "research", you seem to have missed the other 7,000 discussions on this. did you reeeeaallly think you were bringing news?

and who cares if you can connect to your airport, but "read" about other people's connection issues? do you have an issue or not?

finally, get a new thread title. yours is useless.

I haven't had many issues either. I'm here at sea-tac and no issues. I been on Bart and sfo, all with no issues.

I thought this forum was designed to help exchange information. If you want to read more reports read the thread just previous to this one where the individual could not connect to optimum, or the individual who could not connect at Philadelphia airport. There is a problem and your vitriolic garbage won't change it. Get a life.

+1

where can i find a hi fi signal in this airport? I want to listen to some Englebert Humperdinck - analog style.:D
 His Christmas album is a holiday staple in out house... seriously. We decorate the tree every year listening to it.
