I have an older Brother DCP-J525W inkjet printer that is according to the Brother site not supporting Monterey. But if I understand correctly, I will still be able to print via AirPrint after upgrading to Monterey, right?

Did you mean DCP-J525W or DCP-T525W? I can't find DCP-L525W.

If the printer's manual indicates AirPrint support it should work, as Brother recommends using AirPrint if drivers are not available.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any specific information for that printer with regards to AirPrint and Monterey, which I'm guessing you have also realized. I've been looking into Brother + Monterey + AirPrint myself, and came upon this help page from Brother:

And this from Apple:

Your printer is listed there, but the page doesn't make mention of Monterey.
