I'm a year into my plan with the 8 Plus. I thought I read the fine print saying I can upgrade annually to the current or immediately-prior year model. But when navigating through the process on Apple's website, only the Xs, Xs Max, or (soon) Xr are my upgrade options. Any reason why the 8 isn't an option? I get it that the X isn't shown as they have discontinued, but I'm interested in downsizing my 8 Plus while keeping my thumbprint reader. Seems like the 8 would be an option as an immediately-prior year model.

maybe they don't see it as an "upgrade", as such it's not listed. Call them first before you jump to any conclusions.
