The last couple of mornings my iPhone alarm hasn't gone off. Rather, I wake up naturally (and late!) only to find my phone on the "alarm going off" screen, but no audio and no vibration or anything.

It's caused me a few stressful mornings as a result.

Has anyone had any issues with the alarm not making any sound?

It happened to me as well on iOS 11, iPhone 6S and iPad Air 2, I think 3 - 4 times... Now I set up two alarms in 5 minutes and it is OK...

This is going to sound stupid, but I honestly did this recently myself, and couldn’t understand why one particular alarm wasn’t going off. I felt like an idiot, and I’m not trying to insult you, but just make sure.

Did you check to make sure that you have a sound selected in the alarm you’re relying on?

This is alarm with repeat - monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday a week. One day it rings (exactly same setup) and some other doesn’t. But this error is in iOS for years. But only a few people are touched by this bug. Acording to some other macrumors thread about alarm doesn’t ring bug...

Yeah it does have sound enabled. And like @souko, I set up a tester alarm, and that works/sounds just fine.

It's just scary not knowing if your morning alarm for work will go off....

I've done a hard restart a couple of times, and will restore from backup next time I'm at my computer with my proper iTunes on it.

What happens if you delete that particular alarm, do a hard reset, and add a new alarm for like a minute before or after the one that didn’t work?

Maybe there’s a glitch in that particular alarm? If the testers work, that’s worth trying.

Yes, my wife has this bug on her 6s on ios 11. Driving her crazy because she relies on her phone to get to the gym in the morning. From what I can tell the volume of your specific alarm may be turned down to zero. When you set the alarm you should be able to adjust the volume immediately, but I've found I have to go into the Edit --> Alarm screen where then I can adjust the volume - but only for that specific alarm. The volume setting then doesn't pass through to any other alarms you may have set (and my wife must have 30...)

Apple has had alarm sounding issues at least once in every major version if iOS since iOS 8. While I haven't had any problems with iOS 11 its obnoxious and frankly irresponsible to have a bug in what should be a fairly basic function (I almost called it a feature as if it was something special).

Not that it should be a problem but have you checked your volume, mute, and do not disturb settings? Do you use or have any 3rd party alarms (ex. sleep cycle)?

The volume for the individual alarm (inside edit->alarm) was all the way up. I've tried deleting all the alarms and hard resetting the phone. Will give that a try.

It should be noted that the 'tester' alarms I set were with that same specific alarm.
