Alarm/Calender App that alerts me on specific days?

so i am looking for a better calender event/alert app than the stock one

anybody know of a really good one? also this is probably a dumb question but any one i use i would have to have "notifications" on right to be alerted? reason i ask is w/ the normal calender alerts i dont need notifications on it still works

If you are using iOS 4 then, no, "notifications" (push notifications from a server) are not required -- this is because iOS 4 supports so-called local notifications which an App can schedule in the future... perfect for alarms

Right but i need a app for a alarm, that can alert me not just the next day a specific date - any recommendations?
