Check out this great new version in the App Store

Ryan,
I am not able to edit an alarm that was added. I can delete it, but not edit it (change the time for the alarm). It looks like you have designed an edit button, but it will not allow me to change an alarm time.

Bill

Edit: The button I thought was an edit button is the button to allow re-ordering alarms. I guess you can't really edit an alarm that is established without deleting and starting over. I have to get up at different times most days and usually just have one alarm time setting that I edit every night.

Awesome, now the only request I still have is that listening to tunes before bedtime can be on low vloume, while the alarm is set at high. I dunno if that's feasible though..

Well, they can have it so you listen to music with headphones, and the alarm plays through the speaker. I know apps like SonicVox can play from the speaker even with headphones plugged in.

will this app work if i want it for various alarms throughout the day? do i have to have alarmtunes active in order for the alarms to sound?

thanx!

Yup - app has to be open as all apps do to work as apple doesn't allow background tasks :-(

Edit: unless anyone has tested with backgrounder on a jailbroken phone?

All third party apps must be active (open) to work. The coolness of this app lies in multiple alarms for the morning, as well as actual songs and not just 30 second clips of songs to wake up to.

It winds me up when people give apps like this a bad review because they can't run in the background. Grrrrrrrrr!

By the way, superb update. Can't wait to test Monday morning (actually I can because that means its time for work, but you know what I mean :D)

thanx.... ok.... i'll just have to get used to opening alarmtunes before i put my iphone down, after using it!

(i think this is going to be one of the things that irks me.... i've had a PDA for years that i've had alarms on.... they go off every day for me and i really miss that on the iphone.... i had tried it using the clock program in the iphone and wondered why they didn't go off for me???? :()

i'd looked at alarmtunes before and with the updates it looks even nicer!

Built-in iPhone alarm function should work fine as long as the phone is on (it can be locked but must be powered on). Phone can even be in flight mode.

Gokunama,
Here is a simple way to accomplish this.

Set your volume preference for the alarm. Press the play button and then reduce or increase the volume using your side volume controls on the device.

When the alarm sounds it will reference your volume preference and override the manual adjustment made using the side buttons.

Thanks

Great, that works. Thanks.

Is it possible to set up each alarm with a different song?

I guess I do have a request. Some way of having different bedtime and wake up tunes.

I think it is a little silly after using my palm tx I could use any alarm app and they would not have to be running to work. this is one of the biggest complaints of the iphone I have only the built in alarm app is useful. calendar fills in OK but it is not great.

Has anyone had any battery issues with this? Battery was 3/4 charged, phone in flight mode and screen locked and the phone (3G) was completely dead this morning!

Gokunama,
We are working on this possibility for a future update.

Thanks!

In the next version, please, please, please add the alphabetical scrolling for the selection of songs from the music library. It is a major hassle to have to scroll all the way to the R's or V's when it you be easy to use current iPhone UI to just select the letter.

WildDog, thanks for the feedback we will definitely look into this.

On a related note, we wanted to let everyone know that version 1.2 has been submitted to the app store with some highly anticipated new features.

We are continuing to listen to you, and think you are really going to love the new enhancements coming in 1.2!

Keep an eye out for it in the coming days.

Just wanted to add in....

Thanks so much for an alarm that can access the itunes music! Finally! :D

I just tried backgrounder on the app using an alarm with music from the ipod. i even turned the iphone off(sleep, not full off). It did not come on when the iPhone was in sleep mode, but when I saw that the alarm didn't do off, I clicked home, and the alarm started (late, but it started).

So, AlarmTunes can be run in the background. It cannot be run if the iPhone/iPod Touch goes to sleep.

**To fix the not opening problem when in sleep, I set the apple alarm at the same time with no sound. The apple turned on the iphone from sleep, and AlarmTunes started it's alarm!(in the background)!! :D
