Waking up to your music just got even better! In our continued efforts to meet our customers needs we are extremely excited to announce the latest update to AlarmTunes. Here is a brief overview of the new features found in 1.2:

Landscape Mode
AlarmTunes now works in both portrait and landscape orientations. Now enjoy a nice large clock that takes advantage of the wider screen width and a minimalistic design.

More Control
Now you can easily navigate your selected playlist with simple swipe gestures. Swipe right skips to the next track, while swiping left will go to the previous track. It's that simple!

Battery, Battery, Battery
We chose to spend a great deal of development time optimizing battery consumption as we have learned many of our customers want to use AlarmTunes for long periods without being plugged in. You will surely notice a significant difference!

Improved Performance
Fixed an intermittent issue related to media not loading properly and audio not playing.
General performance and stability improvements.

The update is free for existing customers, and AlarmTunes is still priced at a remarkable $0.99 for new customers.

Check out this great new version of AlarmTunes in the App Store!

Awesome, my only gripe with this app was the amount of battery life it ate overnight while not plugged in, hopefully it doesn't eat up too much, i'll find out tomorrow. In my 7 hours of sleep with this app running overnight it ate up 25% of my battery when i originally downloaded it. Thanks for the update and as i've said in other posts, great app.

Nice

Just bought it thank you for the updates! I will try it tonight! :D next update could you and a sleep to music setting please! so far though I liking it!

I wish it had easy access to turning the brightness down within the app. Even the night mode tends to be bright. I know I could just go into settings and reduce the brightness, but again it would be nice to tap on the screen and have three levels of night mode brightness. Other than that, this app is going to come in very handy. Thank you for the great update...

I know thus is probably not feasable but I'd like to activate snooze withvoice control. That way I could yell at the clock in the morning instead of fumbling for the buttons.

I have a problem with version 1.2 and wondered if anyone else is getting the same issue.

1. load iTunes, select mid-level volume using on-screen slider.

2. quit iTunes and load AlarmTunes

3. quit AlarmTunes and go back to iTunes

Volume has now jumped to maximum and if I try using to slider to reduce it the selector 'judders' and jumps back up to maximum!

Screen Dim

I have this and think it is really good but cannot use it as the screen is too bright.
If you ask any sleep expert you should sleep in total darkness or as close as possible.

This really really needs an option to be able to dim the screen as low as you need.

I know you can change screen brightness for the device, but there is no way i will do this every evening and then reset it every morning.

PrinceDraven,
I suggest using the sleep mode for you. Once you set your alarm and choose your music simply put your phone to sleep. The alarm will still run as long as you do not push the home button before sleeping your phone the alarm will continue to work.

We have also considered screen brightness in the app and are working on a solution.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Awesome, I've been using this Alarm app since it came out and have been waiting for the dimming feature,,,,,,THANK!!!!!

Just bought this, will be useful on both my kids iPod Touch's to wake them up in the morning! :)

Looks nice, maybe a help screen would be useful so new users know about the gestures and dimming etc...

Only issue so far, if I double-tap the screen to get the PM to show, the clock still show 23:50 instead of 11:50pm, I see the "PM" but the clock does not change to 12 hour format. I'm UK if that is of any help :)

AlarmTunes 1.3 Now Available

We just wanted to let everyone know that the latest update to AlarmTunes is now available.

This new update addresses 2 main objectives.

1) Implementation of user preferences via the iPhone OS settings application. Users may now:

- Choose your own Snooze time
- Configure the Music Sleep Timer
- Enable/Disable Alarm Fade-in Feature

2) Code optimization to ensure compatibility with iPhone OS 3.1.

We hope everyone enjoys the update and we look forward to updating you on the next one.

Thanks for the update, got it as soon as it appeared.

Actually, not checked to see if the 12/24 hour clock display issue I reported above is present, will check that...

....defnitley something strange, it's 13.30 here and double-tapping he clock in AlarmTunes just shows/hides the PM icon but the time remains showing as 13.30 instead of switching to 1.30pm.

So, went into iphone settings>general>date/time and turned 24hr clock OFF
The iPhone clock at the top of the display showed 1.30pm, launched AlarmTunes and it said 1.30am (should have been PM)

Back into iPhone date/time settings, turned 24hr clock back to ON

AlarmTunes now switches between 13.30 and 1.30pm just fine... weird??? :)

Looks great! The feature I'd most like is the ability to see what songs I've added to a customized playlist for the Alarm. One app shows what song was chosen, but they don't support multiple songs yet.

Thanks for the comments guys.

We are working on the 24 hour issue that seems to be affecting our users in the UK. We hope to resolve that in the next release.

Fedorov, did the steps you mentioned seem to permanently fix the issue for you?

I've just rebooted my iPhone just to make sure and YES it is 00:42 in the morning here and it also switches to 12.42 AM the other way and vice versa. Seems to be okay after switch 12/24 hr off/on/off :)

Nice app, look forward to more improvements in future, hope it does well, the display is nice.
