I know this is the last thing people want to hear about still.

I did wonder when I had my S7 edge when it become so warm during fast charging and if I should be worried. However on a normal charge this really shouldn't happen.

I'm gonna chalk this up to a one off incident. As has been brought up ad naseum in just about every thread, batteries fail on occasion. Considering the S7 has been out for 7 months and we haven't seen any pattern of failure until now after tens of millions of sales, this just seem like piling on with a random incident.

Right. Unless a certain production number was affected or we don't know if this specific example could be a set up of some kind, Which Samsung is being attacked on all ends currently.

I highly doubt that this is a common problem. The S7's been out for a while now and not too many cases like these came out.

I will hypothesize that due to Samsung pushing batteries to their limits by fast charging, etc. that S7s are more likely to catch fire than something like a Galaxy S4, but I'm confident that it's still under the maximum acceptable threshold.

I'll say this. When I was in Telekom yesterday getting my phone the usual huge display of Samsung phones and tablets that sits opposite of the iPhone/watch display was gone. The only thing Samsung that was on display was a small two phone display between the help desks. There were no tablets, no A series, nothing other than an S7 S7E. Samsung really doesn't need any more bad news
