I've been streaming Pandora from my iPhone to my new AppleTV pretty much every day since 4.2 came out, and I've been really happy with it. My only little complaint was the fact that the song's data didn't show up on the TV screen like it would with songs in the iPod app. Under the "Now Playing" section, all it ever said was "Untitled, Unknown Artist, Unknown Album" with the default blank album artwork. I just shrugged this off as being normal, and figured that that must be something restricted to native apps or something.

But then, I was just listening to some Christmas music through this setup - Pandora on my iPhone to the AppleTV - and I looked up to see all of the currently-playing song's data on my TV screen. Song title, album, artwork, and everything. And it wasn't even a song that I've downloaded, so I know I wasn't accidentally listening to my iPod or something. I was able to see it for a little while before my finger accidentally hit the "menu" button on my iPhone (the Remote app was up), clearing out of it. I tried to recreate it but of course I couldn't.

So...has this ever happened to anyone else? Does anybody know of a way to display Pandora's metadata all the time? I'm hoping this could be a permanent feature someday, as it could really be useful.

I was excited yesterday to look at my TV to see Pandora metadata being displayed via AirPlay to my apple tv. I thought, great they finally fixed it. Only to find today that it's reverted back to the old unknown artist/song scenario. Oh well.
