hi all, new here.
i've got iphone 4 and updated it to ios5..
my problem is everytime i change the album name and album artist name to the same name on itunes, it doesn't change in my iphone.. but! the albums set under the correct letter..
example:
i have an album named "Unsorted"
and other album named "Masterplan"
i've changed the song's album name under "Masterplan" to "Unsorted"... it shows correctly on itunes but on the iphone is messed up.
under the letter U, instead of showing "Unsorted" it shows "Masterplan"

tried restore with backup, and clean restore (new iphone, literally).. didn't help at all.

there is any solution for this?

Go into the MUSIC/iPod settings in preferences, and uncheck sort by Album Artist. That's what I did, and if you're having the same issue I was, that's probably what's wrong. Try it out!

When you select "Get Info" on tracks in your library, make sure that "Album Artist" and "Artist" are the same in the Info tab.

I have noticed that variation in those two fields can lead to some interesting grouping and sorting choices in the music app on my iPad.

they are.. i think it's a bug on ios 5.. on 4.3.3 and 4.3.5 i didn't have this.
maybe clean restore (again) will fix this.. until then, maybe there is a way to fix this?

Have you checked 'arranging' tab in song info (or something like that, I don't know exact name of that tab because I don't use english iTunes, it's the 4th tab between 'video' and 'settings' tabs). Sometimes when I edit the album info, it doesn't update the old info in 'arranging' tab and it orders album based on that info.

i think you mean 'sorting' tab, and yes.. the info on both tabs (info and sorting) is the same

I have the same problem(first pic). The worse thing is that under the first album, all Adele's musics are listed but under the second album, not all are listed. On the second pic, Jennifer Lopez's album is listed as 2 different albums despite having the same album name, artist name, and album artist name. I edited all the music under 'multiple edits' so they definitely have the same info.

What gives, Apple?!

well.. i downloaded Soundhound (it's also a music player) to check if it's a bug on music app.. but i think it's actually music database issue in the iphone because the problem also showed up on soundhound.

it looks like the songs info on the iphone doesn't get changed at all! but on itunes it is.

something weird is going on.

is there a way to rebuild the music database on the iphone?
