Hey guys just a quick question.

I turned off and unplug my mba and cleaned the keyboard and trackpad with damped smooth toilet paper with alcohol

and then damped another toilet paper with water

Can the alcohol damage my trackpad? so that i don't clean with it again

Alcohol should be no more dangerous to your trackpad than skin oils.

Wait, by alcohol you mean rubbing alcohol / isopropanol - or do you mean Vodka / Beer? Because the latter two might be problematic.

I use the prepackaged eyeglass cleaning wipes in my iPhone, iPad, MBP, screens, & keyboards/trackpads. The formula is mostly rubbing alcohol, but there's no risk of spilling.

Cleans well, is strong enough for glass but mild enough to not damage plastic. Isopropyl Alcohol degreases very effectively and evaporates rapidly. At least in the form of a wrapped wipe, it's totally safe.

I've been using rubbing alcohol on all of my Macs (including my Air) for the past 3 years. No issues and it actually cleans very well.

Have you tried whiskey or vodka?

Just kidding. Don't share a shot glass with your MBA.

I usually use spectacle cloths like this:

Everything that does not harm your glasses is OK. I use those for the screen and rest of my mbp if necessary (i.e. palm rest).

I use isopropyl alcohol from time to clean a plastic Macbook as well as an aluminum MBP. I don't see a problem with that. Wouldn't use it on the display though.

I've been using dilute Isopropyl to clean my iBook & MacBook keyboards and trackpads for years. Also dilute windex on the glass. No problems so far.
