Alerts style sucks!

On the new iOS 10 notification alert style, please bring back the previous style when if I select the Alerts style, my notification will pop up in the middle of the screen. I don't like the new alert style where you have to reach on top of the iPhone and pull down the alert in order to perform an action. Too many steps and cumbersome! Please send feedback to Apple to anyone who agrees with me and hope they'll listen!

What are you talking about? You can just swipe up on the alert and dismiss it.

I only alert I do not like is the new alarm clock. It appears as a banner and there's no way to turn OFF the alarm. If you swipe up, it snoozes the alarm. You actually have to open the app and manually turn off the alarm. This is quite annoying.

In iOS 9, you could just swipe to unlock on the lock screen and it would turn off the alarm.

Right, instead of just pressing the close button before which is much easier? And what about if you want to view what the alert is about? It's way easier before.

The one thing I hate about the alarm clock is there is a big Snooze button but I have to fumble and look for the very tiny and hard to press Stop button that is way down on the bottom of the screen and very small. Kind of like the stupid delete button on the phone dial pad, so hard to press, I still find myself looking for the delete key on the phone dial pad sometimes.

I'm using an iPhone SE. No 3D touch here. Any other suggestion for users without 3D touch? It's a pretty stupid feature if the only way you can turn it off is with 3D touch.

On the lock screens it's the same behavior from before, you choose snooze or stop. If it's an alert at the top, you just have to 3D Touch it to dismiss it... I don't get what the big deal is.

I really remember it always being easier to snooze than to stop the alarm, and I'm pretty sure that was intentional. The aim is to make it hard for asleep people to easily dismiss the alarm.

Swiping up works fine for me on iPhone 6. I just start right on the notification and flick it up.

Hmm, for me it seems hit or miss of whether I have to swipe up on the notification or below it. Half the time I end up opening it! But I can't be too mad when my almost four year old phone still runs the newest OS pretty well

Thanks. This worked for me on the timer mode for the clock app.

Hitting the home button normally used to hide the app, not perform an in app function. Therefore using the home button this way very unintuitive and therefore unfriendly.

My intuitive reaction is to hit the cancel button. But! The cancel button is disabled because of the floating banner.

The banner is really misused here because its supposed to be non modal. And if I'm using another app the banner is easier.

But if I have the clock app as the active app, then there is nothing else I am doing *except* using the iPhone as a timer. There's no point in bringing up a banner when there's a big fat "cancel" button on the middle of the screen.

I don't like the new banner style for alerts either. Lot of posts here are workarounds; you can do this or that to simulate something from the previous way, etc.

The problem is that an alert at the top of the screen sucks. I've actually continued using apps for a little while before realising there was an alert at the top. Alerts should be modal as the above poster says. It should grab your attention and let you handle actions quickly. Swiping down doesn't cut it, especially when there was that animation bug which delayed you tapping on the actions for the first second (thankfully now fixed).

What about swiping down? There should be additional actions when you swipe down.

Honestly, I feel like the banners themselves could be a lot more optimized. They're very confusing for many users.

The new alert style forces me to disable ALL banners in iOS 10 in order to not being bothered by those ugly yet distracting banners, whether it is alert or not.

I didn't liked the pop up style. I think this notification modification is one of the very few improvement from iOS 9. I like the way it is now. You don't have to slide it down to the middle of the screen you know, just a little slide or you can tap it.
