Alesis DM7X not working

Hello,

I am trying to connect the Alesis DM7X drum module to my macbook pro via USB. The device shows up in "about this mac", on "system report" under the "USB 3.0 Bus" tab. But it doesn't show up in Audio and Midi setup no matter how many times i press "scan for devices".

It works normally on my Mac mini, but all the other USB devices work fine on my macbook too.
What could be the problem?

Do you have a rMBP? I would imagine your problem is that the drum module doesn't like USB 3.0. I have ran into a few different audio interfaces that would not even function if used in a USB 3.0 port, which renders them useless for a rMBP.

It would be helpful to know what your Mac Mini and your MacBook are. This is just the first thing that came to my mind.
