Alias arrows / symlink arrows

I have alias arrows removed for all my symlinks as it makes app stacks look cleaner. The Yosemite update broke this and brought back the alias arrows I don't want. The two terminal commands that typically remove alias arrows don't seem to work in 10.10.

Any ideas.

I create app stacks by category for all my apps and prefer not to have alias arrows on them.

I think I have it fixed.

1. Go to folder /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
   
2. Then find AliasBadgeIcon.icns
   
3. If you've messed with this it may say _OFF or _NO or something.
   
4. If it is renamed, fix it back to the original name.
   
5. Then copy the file or duplicate it and put it in your Docs folder or somewhere for safekeeping so you have the original file.
   
6. Then open the file that is in the system folder with preview.
   
7. You will see all the versions down the left. There are 10 of them at various icon sizes.
   
8. Go through each iteration and select a box around the arrow and delete it, leaving the space blank.
   
9. At the end you will end up with 10 grey squares. I actually left the 10th, smallest intact because I don't mind the arrow in list view. I only mind it as an Icon.
   
10. Close and save the file.
    
11. Restart.

Now for the bad news. Existing alias don't seem to be fixed. New aliases / symlinks seem to remove the arrow now.

I've got about 65 to fix.

Just tried this and it worked but as soon as I renamed the files to remove the appended 'alias' from the name the arrow appeared again.
