Started today I think. Great deals on the 12.9 iPad Pro. $150 off all of them. I went ahead and bought a silver, 256gb 12.9 pro for $999. Forget the M2 Pro, this iPad Pro is fast enough and will probably last me for the next 5 years. www.costco.com

Worthless so is the M2 chip with No AV1 codec support it’s DOA. Heck my 2021 Samsung QN90A TV has AV1 codec support.

That was a good deal — I believe the lowest price I’ve seen on the 12.9”. No doubt the M1 will hold up for many years.

What is AV1 and why should I care?
It's a royalty-free codec developed by an industry alliance of Google, Apple, Amazon, Samsung, etc. In theory it's supposed to be the de-facto "open" codec but hasn't seen huge adoption yet. You probably don't need to care about it unless you are producing video.
