Chicago
I just switched from Cingular/ATT to TMobile. Main reason...dropped calls. I didn't have too many bars living in my garden apt here in Chicago and I can only make/receive cals in my living room.

So, I really want to know if the problem was with the network or with my old Treo 650??? Can you please post if you have problems with dropped calls in your area? If you live in Chicago, I would really like to know.

In my experience, Chicago is pretty dicey with any carrier.

That said, the Treo 650 isn't particularly well-known for maintaining a decent signal. When I had one, it had a hard time handing off between towers, and that usually resulted in dropped calls.

So far, in my limited travels in Metro Detroit, the iPhone's signal hasn't been noticeably better or worse than other phones I've had.

chi-town t-moble vs. att experience

Hey Hooch and Twinkie.

I'm in chi-town also. When living near the small bar near diversy and albany, t-mobile rocked. Never a droped call and great price to boot.
I moved near montrose and sacramento and t-mobile sevice there blew chuncks, constant droped calls all the frack'n time. BUT switched to ATT yesterday, and so far so good at home. But unlike hooch, no garden apt here only first and third respectivly.

I'm in Maine, any carrier is spotty at best. AT&T is the worst around here, but in town and stuff everything is fine. I can get service in some areas of my house (sometimes), but not in my room. I can get it fine in by backyard, but my front yard, the house blocks everything HAHA. But traveling in the area it's fine.
