Hello,
I upgraded my patchsticked Apple TV to their latest version 3.0.1e and then installed Overflow. Playing with Overflow (and not knowing what the hell I was doing). I turned all the icons on the far right to green (I thought green was good). By doing this I basically hid everything including the overflow menu?

thanks for any help with unhiding the menus.

Steve

Please spare the wisecracks, I've already been cursing myself for the last couple of hours.

Have you tried re-running the PatchStick? I'm on ATV 3.0.2 and I tried running the update to Software Menu, which made it disappear after Finder restart. Running the stick again brought it back.

Maybe in your case a reinstall of the patch will replace a default plist or something that could bring things back (or at least enough to get in and fix what you did for the rest).

Be aware, too, that some "apps" are not ready for the 3.0.x Finder yet. I tried installing ATVFiles and it blanked out the Finder. I got the startup movie, and the screen saver would come up, but no menus. Is this possibly what you're experiencing? I ended up having to do the Menu & Minus for 6 seconds on the remote to start over with a Factory Reset -> Update -> Patch. I would have gone in and just removed the frappliance but my SSH got hosed along the way somehow.

If that seems to be your issue, and you can still SSH in, maybe you can remove the frappliance for Overflow to bring back your menus. That's a "maybe", mind you.

At worst, of course, you'll have to do the same Restore cycle. :(

"maybe you can remove the frappliance for Overflow" - BBB can you expand on that? I've used cyberduck to ftp into my apple TV, but I'm not sure where to go or what to do.

Thanks,
Steve
