All of as sudden, without warning or having done anything out of the ordinary on my device, ALL of my music has decided to delete itself from my Music app. In the About section it states that I still have the same 1.2GB of free space remaining, but that I have 0 songs on my device... I have 5G iPod Touch. I'm also running iOS 9 beta. Possibly the most frustrating thing to have happened to me using an Apple device in a while, and since I am in the middle of a holiday, travelling, this is INCREDIBLY annoying, and don't have my MacBook to reset or rr-load all my music back on to my device. Please, does anyone have a fix? I've tried quitting and restarting. I want to stress the fact that I don't use or have not used Apple Music, as this seems to be the reason most people have lost their music.

I am on iOS 8.4 and have the same issue. I posted in the iOS 8 forum with no answers. My device is a 128GB 6 Plus. I am still at 7.1 GB free.

I'm having a little bit different problem. I tried to sync music back into my iPhone 6 plus 128GB and there is no way to put music back on the phone. iTunes says in syncing, but when it finishes, music is not on the phone. The weird thing is that every time I try to sync, "other" storage in the phone keeps getting bigger and bigger. I have restored, set up as new, there is nothing that works. I hope Apple fixes this soon because this is ridiculous!!

Yeah I can't find any fixes anywhere, it's very frustrating. Now my music app just shows me all the music I've purchased and downloaded for free. Including that damn U2 album. They're not downloaded on my iPod so I can't play them, not that I'd want to. How has this happened? And why is there no fix? :/

My fix for this was to restore my device. And not go from backup from a week ago. This fixed it. All the music you have is still on your device it's just in other but the only way to fix it is restore sorry

I would try to download it from your phone instead of iTunes. It might work

Sorry to hear about this happening to you, too. It's been happening to me on both my iPhone and iPod touch since iOs 7, it's too bad they still haven't fixed it. Personally, I tell iTunes to treat my devices like a hard drive, then drag and drop whatever I like. Frankly, iTunes has always been unstable and confusing to work with, as a rule I keep all of my songs on a laptop when I'm traveling just to be on the safe side.
