My friend did update to iOS 5 on his iPod Touch and now all his music and apps are gone! Not only did the music and apps get deleted in the iPod Touch, it did also get deleted in iTunes on the computer (windows)!

Wtf? He did backup and sync before he did the update, and i have try to helped him but it aint working... And when he try to restore backup from iTunes on computer to the iPod nothing happens... maybe someone here know the problem and can get a helping hand. :(

Try restarting the iPod. Then turn it back off. Plug it in to the computer to get it back on.

As for iTunes "deleting" all music and backups, I would use Windows Explorer to find the iTunes folder. I am quite sure it is still there.

Also make sure ur iTunes is 10.5.
