When I navigate to "All my files" in Mountain Lion I can only see the documents present on my main drive. I have two of them... How can I make the finder not only search on my main drive but also on my secondary one?

Thanks

Is the secondary drive excluded from Spotlight searches?

"All My Files" is essentially a Smart Folder, i.e. a live Spotlight search.

Just checked it. I can search for files in the secondary drive through Spotlight...

I think the problem here isn't that Spotlight isn't searching the external drive; but rather that All My Files only applies to files living in your home folder.

I don't know if it does or should: I don't use it at all.

But if it doesn't, then you could create your own "All My Files" as a Spotlight Smart Folder, explicitly including your external.

Ok. Thats a good idea. Thanks a lot
