All of Windows is Laggy and stuttery help?

Hello,

I'm a little confused. Just did the bootcamp thing and every thing has been going. Recently however it started beecoming very stuttery and laggy. It started when I was playing Age of Empires 3. So i figured maybe my computer was getting to hot. I quit playing for awhile and let the computer stay awake and let the fans run. After about an hour or so it was back to quiet so I let it sleep.

Then I woke it up about an hour ago to play some Age of Empires 3 again. Started off fine. But now it started up again.... So I exited Age of empires 3 and it was laggy in windows (this was the first time). I restarted and now it is still laggy as crap.

By laggy I mean: Mouse is only responsive at times, sound stutters, video stutters.

On a side note OS X is laggy/stuttery but only after a start/restart and only for the first time. For example when you hit the volume button. No little beep beep sound as the volume is going up, nor is there any visual of the volume going up for at least a few volume increase buttons pushes. Then it catches up and from now on it will be spot on. What does any of this mean?

What model are we talking about? Early MacBooks have topcase and heatsink flaws and even some of the new ones have popped up with the heatsink goo not correctly applied. Please elaborate with model. If you want a more detailed opinion PM me with your SN# and I'll look it up on GSX.

What version of Windows are you running?

If you are running Vista, open the reliability monitor and see if the change in performance coincides with any changes in settings, hardware, software, etc.

Also, make sure that you are using the newest drivers for everything.

I have hte 2.33 17 C2D MBP ordered on the first day. 160 mb and 2 gbs of RAM. 15 GB Partion of bootcamp

No I am running XP. I don't really know the way to check newest drivers and what not

Ok:

1. (What are you using for anti-virus/anti-spyware/anti-etc. on XP?) Avast/Avast Cleaner, Spybot Search and Destroy. Thats it.

2. (Have you run your Windows Updates?) I have it on automatic updates

3. (Are you running Hamachi perchance?) I have no clue what this means.

4. (Is your drive making any rhythmic or grinding noises?) I've never even heard my drive make a sound, though in XP 95% of the Time my fan's are at full blast so I can't hear much of anything

5. (Have you run all your software updates in OS X? Including your Firmware?) I have run all the software updates from the updater in the System Preferences. Well that is except pages and keynote because I do not have them. How do you do the firmware?

6. (Are you running on a wireless network?) I am using a wireless network yes. Belkin Wireless G for this past week. Before this week wireless G Linksys. Home network is Pre Draft N though...

7. (Are you running Peer to Peer (limewire/gnutella/etc)?) Nope none. Well limewire is and azuerus is on OS X but that will change as soon as I get appzapper or something. I don't want them, and haven't ran them since November.

8. (Have you added any third-party RAM?) Nope stock 2 gigs from apple

Recently its been running a lot better.

Installation XP: Adobe Reader, Google Updater, Spyware/adware/virus software listed above, and Age of Empires III - Only use Windows for the games.

Installation OS X To much to list. A lot of crap that I need to take off. First time on a Mac and I went a little free software crazy. Mostly just games/and things that change os x like shape shifter/clear dock.

Any other questions to narrow the problem.

My problems from the link:

1. I have to force quit applications at least 4 times a day.

2. Applications quit by themselves around 10 times a day.

3. My MBP keyboard stops responding at times

4. My Screen whines off and on

5. It has randomly restarted now twice.

6. All the eye candy OS X features tend to work on and off. Like my dock it's magnification feature works on and off...

7. It acts very sluggish at times.

8. I get the beach ball on lots of applications. Typing this my computer stutters at moments.

9. My MBP used to not recognize DVD's unless they were burned.

10. When closed it comes out of sleep mode once and awhile.

1. and 2. have gotten a lot better since I did the PRAM Reset, but I never did the SMC reset in hopes that PRAM would fix the general.

3. I found out was a Firefox glitch and not my MBP

4. Still happens

5. Only happens now in Xp

6. Is still a problem

7. Is still a problem

8. This is the biggest problem.

Any help/advice would be great!

Hate to say this but it's beginning to sound like a faulty Logic Board or heat sensor (on the logic board). Lame, rare but it's all that's really left. Take it in to an Authorized Service Provider that you trust and have it tested under warranty. Back up all your data first as a Logic Board repair usually gets mailed in and then Apple has Carte Blanche to replace anything at their whim (including the drive).
