These battery sizes are a significant increase for all models of the 12 and 12 Pro! Apple was not joking!

I was struggling to decide between the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max since they are the same except for, display size, display resolution, and battery.

The 13 Pro Max has a 39.9% larger battery than the standard size 13 Pro!!! 😯🤯

When I saw the difference was that huge, I ordered the Pro Max! The Pro Max is likely going to be a beast with battery life!

What are your thoughts on these battery sizes? Also lets take estimate guesses, how many hours of screen on time do you think the phone you ordered will get?

I am estimating the 13 Pro will likely be able to get about 8+ hours of screen on time with around 70-80% brightness.

Picture is from GSM Arena.

I don’t understand why the 13 pro has a smaller battery than the 13.

My guess is to make room for the 3rd camera lens and also larger GPU since it has 5 cores instead of 4 cores. So there's more stuff on the inside of the 13 Pro which leaves less space for battery.

Pro Max is awesome especially with the battery size. It’s just too big of a phone for me personally. 256 Sierra Blue Pro.

Coming from a Note 20 Ultra, and the 13 Pro Max is slightly smaller than that. But its heavier! So I am a little worried about the weight of the 13 Pro. Its even heavier than the Note 20 Ultra.

I guess worst case scenario I can go exchange with in 2 weeks.

Yes I noticed both Pro’s are slightly heavier. The 13 Pro Max looks great it’s just the 12 Pro Max was already huge (and heavy) for me personally. Hope it works out well for you!

Every time I think about the Pro Max battery being 39.9% larger than the Pro it just makes me even more impatient waiting for the phone.

I can't freakin wait to test out the battery on this phone and I can't freakin wait to see how buttery smooth iOS is with 120hz.

My thoughts exactly, iPhone 13 will most probably take the second place on battery. That ProMotion feature alone made me decide on the Pro Max, even if Apple found a way to work around it for saving battery, we’ll just have to test it out and see.

The Mini + Pitaka Air case + Magsafe battery pack = The Pro Max + case

141g + 7g + 115g vs 240g + 25g (being generous here)
263g vs 265g

This effectively gives the Mini an additional 70% (lower than suggested given variables) of battery when needed which equals to about the max without carrying that extra 115g all the time. The battery pack was definitely designed for the Mini.

I have a 12p now and the battery is trash, currently at 87% health and need to charge 2x a day. I tried the pack thing but that is not the best solution. This is why I went 13PM, easier to manage a complete package.

The GPU is part of the SoC, and will be the same size regardless. Even if it was a separate chip, it'd be the same size. Having a less powerful version like this is typically done through binning, not creating a whole separate die.

Wow the battery difference in the iPhone 13 vs 12 and iPhone 13 Pro Max supports Apple claims of an extra 2.5 hours.
Not sure if it’s worth the upgrade but maybe if we see some discounts towards the end of the year 😀

I don‘t follow you thinking. What did you meant by that? That mini is better and lighter than Pro Max while still offers a better battery life (thanks to this combo)?
