2011, 27" iMac, 3.4 i7, 24GB, GTX 780M | Monterey 12.7.4 | OCP 2.4.1

Input bar shows normal mic activity in System Preferences but no matter what I do (I've tried absolutely everything)
I can't get ANY device input to Garageband now. NOT EVEN THE BUILT-IN MICROPHONE, I even installed a copy of High Sierra on a spare HDD, Launched GB and low and behold i get an input as expected to everywhere no worries at all.

Wondering if this is a known about and fixed OCLP issue as I have a feeling it has something to do with permissions not actually asking for "microphone" usage for GB. This is the case on every edition of GB I've tried, Discord, Facebook Calls also dont work. I can hear output from the iMac at all times just fine but there is NO INPUT AND IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE.

Please help :)

Unfortunately I know nothing about installing unsupported OS's on vintage computers, but I do know it comes with massive risks, which is why I would never do it when I had the same computer as you as my main workhorse from 2011-2022. I've read that many people have had success when patching new OS's on unsupported hardware, but I also read many horror stories as well, and I always needed my computer too much to take the risk.

I recommend you do a restoration from the full Time Machine backup you surely did before the Monterey install, then wait for an expert on this kind of stuff to step in. If you didn't do a backup, and if this computer not working fully is a massive show-stopper for you, I'm not sure what words to say that you wouldn't find offensive.
