possibly, apple is struggling with how to improve a product by doing something else besides making it thinner and removing internal components?
Unless the new Mac Pro has a built in teas maid, I'm not note rested as the 5,1 will last me for a very long time
At this point it's pretty clear Apple is waiting on Intel next generation workstation CPUs (maybe so USB 3 is managed by the CPU instead of a third party chip), they'll also wait for the iMac 27" sales to go down before upgrading the TB-display.
The real question for me is what is going to be announced in february that worth the move of the iPad release to october? I doubt it's going to be the Pro's, maybe something to do with TVs or cloud computing (since they keep ramping up their server capacity).
Anyway, I'm still convinced we're going to get the promise refresh of the pro line next year.

With mac minis pumping out raw cpu horse power comparable to the older model pros, expect a mac pro that will be solo running smaller studios.
Congratulations. MacNN just reported on recent benchmarks performed my MacMiniColo that show that the new 2012 Mac Mini has reached the performance levels of the 2010 (read: the current one) Mac Pro.
ALL of you on the Mac Pro team should hang your heads in DISGRACE.
(If a "Mac Pro Team" still even exists)

The MacMini is the new MacPro. At least it is faster. Can we close this Forum section now?
Base Mac pro has been bested by most of Apples fleet for a while now. Nothing still beats the 6-core (16000-25000 GB points) and up. Thats been longer than 2 full years. Not any news. Mac mini chips have been around for months. So we can stop posting inflated nonsense now.
