It looks like they removed the "Anywhere" setting from the app security pane in 10.12. Do you think this was intentional (a sign of things to come) or just an early beta restriction?

It better not be gone in the final release.
While I personally don't use the option, people should have the choice.

I read that the warning alert will now have a button to override it. This has always been the case when you right-click on an app and select ‘Open’ too. It makes sense to remove this preference and I welcome it.

As you can see, I too have the option still enabled. But oddly enough I had to enable this option in order to install Sierra in the first place.

They still have, and always had.

If you want to open a not signed app, just Control-click that app, choose Open, and then click Open.

Apple is NOT blocking the possibility to open not signed apps. Yet ;-)
