So I needed a beefed 4K editing powerhouse after reading some reviews They really spread the word about how slow and out of date the Mac Pro is.

I'd much rather have a M.2 SSD and USbC ports than what the Mac Pro offers. Heck it's not even HDMI 2.0 compliant.

For$3,000 do you guys feel happy with You systems. Do they feel limiting ?

… just make an Hackintosh with less than an half of your money like many others do.

I have 99% compatibility and 100% stability.

You're asking a good question at a bad time. 3 years ago it was quite a good deal; most of the parts cost a lot and the Mac Pro Late 2013 gave it to you at a discount.

These days the cost isn't nearly as justifiable. Not to me anyway.

Meh - unless you run benchmarks for a living, the SSD is still pretty snappy, and Thunderbolt 2 is still pretty fast. I'm running a 4k monitor on whatever version of HDMI the tube comes with, and it's fine. It's no longer great value but it still flies on FCP.

For other tasks, yeah - I'm feeling the limits. But that is down to Apple crippling the OS, not the hardware *cough*eGPU*cough*
