Safari Tab groups are what I've been looking for forever. I find it easy to navigate and it just makes sense for my mind and workflow. It went swimmingly in the beginning but what have they done? Tab groups don't save no matter how long you leave them open, they refresh and close back to the set-up I had weeks ago and now it won't even let me create a Tab-Group! I thought I was going mad at first. Then I googled and realised it wasn't just me.

I've seen some people say switch off iCloud for Safari, but that defeats the whole purpose of being able to work cross-platform. I've gotten so used to this system now and when it works it's perfect for me.

Any ideas? I've attached a screen recording of what the latest issue is. Latest non-beta update, I've restarted Safari and my machine numerous times.

ETA: I've just thought....Should I switch to beta? Is that the issue? My phone and Ipad are in beta!

I'm certain that every time you use an iPhone or iPad, they sync their tab settings with the Mac. And vice versa. If they are not all on the same, latest release version, of course all bets are off.

Instead of putting your Mac on beta, why not use the release versions on your other devices? I say this because if even one of the betas has a bug, it will sync to the Mac and you'll have issues again.

You could cut your Mac free from iCloud, but syncing — at least to me — is half the fun.

Thank you. I decided to bite the bullet and put Macbook into beta and it's fixed all the issues. I am living in harmony with Safari again.... For Now haha!
