LOL wha? That's pretty far away to be honest. That requires AAPL to more than double.

http://seekingalpha.com/article/48692-apple-doubling-again-in-2007

I first posted this chart on April 1 this year:

It showed that since 2003, Apple, Inc. (AAPL) shares has been doubling every year. I visited it again, on May 31, with a Seeking Alpha article, when AAPL's market cap topped $100 billion.
Yesterday, AAPL made a new all-time high of $157.41, with a newly raised target of $175! If someone had invested $10,000 and bought 1,000 shares of AAPL in 2003, and had held on to it until today, he/she would be holding about $157,000 from that original investment! That's a 1470% increase!!
AAPL is only a blink-of-an-eye away from $160. Doubling again in 2007 for these AAPL shares doesn't seem too far a target at all now!

in about 1995 I said that in 15 years Apple will overtake Microsoft, and many of my friends thought i was a complete loon.
Which is why I keep a watchfull eye on the two stocks, so that one day I can say "HAHA", gloat and say "told you so" in a really childish fashion.

Around about that time, open source was kicking off, and my prediction was that 'anything that can be given away free, will eventually be given away free', and so only a company that can make money off hardware(or advertising ala google) can win.
My only worry was the closed new OS Apple had been working on for a decade, but luckily they made the right decision of going with a UNIX based OS.
And it was in the bag from there on IMO.
Embrace open source but put the icing on the cake for those who can afford it.

According to the valuations on Nasdaq.com

AAPL $138bn
MSFT $276bn

So "innovative market leader and inventor of the personal computer" Microsoft is now worth just twice the value of "plucky little Apple", whilst the also-ran beleaguered Mac maker carries twice the value of Dell and about $5bn more than the world's largest PC manufacturer HP ;)

Funny how things change around isn't it?
