Almost instant on but...

I have a 11 inch MBA and I've noticed when I open the lid (wake it up), the display is almost instantly on, but the trackpad does not respond for another couple seconds. Not a big deal but it happens always when I wake it up from sleep. Is this normal?

Yep, I think so. Mine does the same thing.

Actually if the MBA has been kept in the sleep mode for more than an hour it goes into a deep sleep mode, hence it actually takes about 3-4 sec to fully recover.

If you just put to sleep and open the lid after a few minutes it would wake up instantly.
