The list of contents in a folder now shows up in Z > A order. In the older OS systems there used to be a small triangle on the right-hand scroll bar to set the order.

How to I have contents listed from A > Z in Mountain Lion?

Just click on the column header. It will toggle between ascending and descending order.

Thanks. I found a workaround in David Pogue's Missing Manual Book. Under the table listing keyboard shortcuts.

But your solution is more direct. I hope when Maverick OS comes out I don't have to relearn everything.

I thought I had this problem licked, but it came back. When viewing folder contents by LIST view, the top item is at the end of the alphabet, while the bottom line starts with A.

There are no flippy triangles at the top next to NAME SIZE DATE. They do appear which I switch from LIST VIEW to COLUMN VIEW. And then items flow from A > Z as they should. But the Column View is simply too cluttered, in my opinion.

When I arrange the roster by Name, or sort by name, I still end up with Z >A.
