I've been browsing through iTunes in preparation of getting my Apple TV and I've seen some movies which say "Also available in HD on Apple TV", I have heard however that these are rental only on the Apple TV, is this true? And if it is is there anyway to bypass that and buy the title? The titles I'm interested in are every title in the UK iTunes store (since you can't buy HD movies through iTunes here) and in the US iTunes store - Braveheart and Dances with Wolves.

It means that the HD version is only available to rent via the Apple TV. Apple is trying to expand this service, but the studios seem to want no part of it.

There are no HD movies to buy in the UK iTunes store only to rent. As far as I know the only store that allows you to buy HD movies is the US store.

Recently the Canadian store now has HD Movies as well.
