Does anyone know an Android equivalent to Safari which will allow you to open a new window and switch to it when a link is pressed?

Foxfire will only do it only after answering Yes to switch windows. Chrome will do it in the background but won't bring the window to the foreground.

Mercury will switch to it but has was a weird internal limit where after about 25 windows are opened it won't open more unless you close some of the previous windows.

Does the Samsung browser mimic Safari? Or something else?

This is a very useful feature that must be duplicated in Android before I consider jumping ship.

Ghostery. It stinks on iOS but has become my favorite for Android.

Samsung Internet browser I hear has gotten better but have to have one if their phones.

Ghostery will open in a new tab, background, or in same. Also private mode tab.

So you can look at it now but it seems crippled on iOS..

Thanks for the replies.

I will try the Samsung browser (on my Sammy tablet) and give it a go. Also try Ghostery too.

I'm a little surprised other browsers don't offer this.

The S8 is a gorgeous phone but I'm not going to try it for a couple of reasons (some of which I listed in the S8 thread).

They include:

1. FPS will go back to the front when the S9 rolls around next year. I don't upgrade my phone yearly like some here so getting an interim design isn't how I roll.

2. The added length of the phone requires 'shimminying' which I'm not crazy about.

I'd love for Samsung to go back on to S7 size next year, but that's probably not in the cards ATM.

Very surprised how good it is. Loving it over safari even for me. The home button quick click and seamless browsing is fantastic.

That tap to top function is gold and something I love about iOS. That function being added to Samsung applications is awesome. Google should add that to their api's so it can be used in all apps.

Agreed!

Love it especially since it's at the bottom so easy to reach on the big screen. Game changer

Given screen sizes the location is more convenient than how tap to top works in iOS. It also has an icon which is completely unobtrusive.
