I've been using Handbrake for all of my iPad video conversions with no trouble.

This one DVD I have from Australia (no region coding) is giving me problems. Handbrake doesn't seem to read all the chapters correctly, and I can't seem to find a way to get a single huge video file for the entire DVD.

I ripped the DVD initially using RipIt. That worked, and the resulting file plays in DVD player no problem. All the chapters are seen and play properly. But handbrake just doesn't seem to be able to account for the chapters.

Are there alternative video converters that can deal with a DVD media file that might be worth a try?

that is weird?? i use same exact.. ripit first then open handbrake and locate the ripit file. works perfect for me..

do not use handbrake then locate DVD. it will not rip the whole movie because the DVD has a copy protected..
