Ok... I'm not going to ask the same stupid question as everyone else...
I am fully aware that there are multiple radio/encoding used amongst the various carriers and that a CDMA service like Sprint or an IDEN service like Boost won't work with a GSM Based iPhone.
Now that's out of the way....
What about Tracefone?
Before someone spouts off something crazy - like 'idiot' or what not...
Tracfone is a VIRTUAL carrier. They rely on agreements with other carriers in the various parts of the country to provide coverage. In the area I live, when I was using a Tracfone, I had a GSM phone with a SIM card.
As I don't currently own an iPhone (using an iTouch instead for now with a seperate cell phone because I despise AT&T - long story) I'm just curious if anyone has tried this or made it work...
Just curious...
PS - Yes, I realize that you won't be able to add time from the phone and some other issues, but it's just one of those things I was wondering if anyone has tried.
