So I've been quoted €85 for the airport kit + €50 installation + €50 shipping to the apple repair centre.

That makes it very expensive.

Is there any alternative to the airport kit ? maybe a mac compatible pci express card ?

Buy an Airport Express and run an ethernet cable into that. That's what I did with my Mac Pro. Or buy a new Airport Extreme N Base station and hard wire it to that.

Thanks movie cutter. I actually have an Airport Express - and I'm upgrading it in Feb to the new Airport Extreme (ordered the day of the keynote ;) )

So I assume if I set the airport express to act as an access point, it should work as a booster to the new AExtreme base station ?

And I can then connect my mac-pro to the Express via ethernet.

Fingers crossed.

Install it yourself...

Unfortunetly its impossible to buy over here - and I cant order from the few places in the states as they dont ship over seas.
