Alternative to iDisk?

Absolutely one of my favorite features of MobileMe was iDisk. iCloud doesn't have it.

It will sync documents using Apple's Pages/Keynote/Numbers, but that does me very little good when I have other stuff in iDisk to keep my full document folder sync'd between all my devices.

So what's a good replacement?

I was using Dropbox for a while, but quickly came to like iDisk more.

And ideas if Apple will incorporate iDisk into iCloud?

Sidenote: I just gave Photostream a shot. Might not have been a good plan to load all 9k photos...

Try looking at Box.net as well. They just announced that all iOS users of their service will get 50Gb free forever!

I use Drop Box. It's awesome. HIGHLY recommended.

They did say depending on customer feedback, they'd consider bringing features back that got the cut with iCloud...

No wonder they said 5GB is a lot when they first announced it. I had thought you could store anything you wanted on iCloud just like dropbox... guess I was wrong. I don't think I'll ever fill 5GB.

I was a Dropbox user before, but iDisk was much better IMO.

I've got a year to find an alternative, but I really hope they bring it to iCloud.

I was a big iDisk user as well, but with the DropBox app installed on my Mac, I'm finding DropBox superior to iDisk. Tons and tons faster - updates are instantaneous. Even on my very fast connection, iDisk was pathetically slow.

The DropBox app integrates nicely in to the Finder and provides Growl notifications for changes - a nice feature I think. And iOS apps like GoodReader integrate natively in to DropBox.

DropBox also maintains copies of old versions of documents overwirtten by new versions in case you need to roll back. Kind of like Time Machine.

I pay for 50GB of DropBox space - about 20GB used presently - and I'm quite satisfied with it as a replacement for iDisk.

Dropbox is nice but now i can cut down my cost and get 50 gigs free and take my dropbox back down to the free 20 gigs

Switched to Dropbox from iDisk and have since never looked back. They cracked the idea of a true cloud disk. A simple folder that keeps in sync between all your devices.
