Alternative to Stuffit.

I've had all I can stand with stuffit 10...it doesn't expand half the things it should. So, does anyone know of an alternative to stuffit?

Well, some people are having more luck staying with Stuffit 9.0 however I find 10.0 better personally. There are many more specialised de-compressors on VersionTracker however Stuffit is the best all-rounder IMO. Maybe have a bit of a look around there all the same, just to see if there's one that suits you better.

thank you, yes i know that all signs point to stuffit but i just cant stand it...i wish there was something like winzip for mac that could expand anything.

What things doesn't it expand?

I know it can't compress .zip file contents beyond the minimum but it does expand quite a lot and you can allow it to use the system utilities to work on others.

well i only have (had) stuffit expander...and apparently they released build 10.0.1 which fixes the errors that i am experiencing. BUT it wont let me upgrade expander without downloading and installing stuffit standard (which is a bunch of crap that i dont want to deal with). As of this point that is the only way of upgrading it...or so it seems. I am stuck.

I think that they were trying to make it better so that you could compress and archive things with Standard where you couldn't with Expander. It's not a bad deal--it's still free.

Besides, it's the engine that's important and you'll need the version 10 engine to catch all the new changes...oh yeah, that was version 8.

WinZip didn't expand rar-files last time I tried.
