Hello,

I know I will see ads, I know I won't be able to comment and like videos, but I want to cancel my Google acc due to bad privacy policy and spying upon users. The only reason I had Google acc was... YouTube.

Yes, I'm finding an alternative YouTube app, where I can store my subscriptions offline without need to have a Google acc. I know ProTube was able to do so, but it was banned (with many other clients) after Google acted against Apple due to abusing APIs (ad blocking, playing in background, etc.). Ideally an app where my subscriptions can be stored and synced via iCloud, but I'm ready to enter them manually after app reinstal - I don't have many of subscriptions. I only use YouTube to watch videos.

Any ideas? Many thanks!

I am not aware of any apps that will do what you want. I applaud you wanting to get away from having a Google account etc.

On the iPad, I use Safari to view video. If I want to subscribe to a channel, I can do it anonymously using a RSS feed with reader app, which works quiet well.

why don’t you just download the videos you want to watch if you don’t want to see the adds.

I’m sorry but Apple does not allow ad blocking on YouTube.

For audible alerts, I use a watch app called ”Watch Feeds.” Any time there is a new post to one of my RSS feeds I want to be notified about, the watch alerts with a tone and then shows the alert notification on my watch.

I don’t believe any iPhone or iPad reader offers audible alerts like you are looking for, although I could be mistaken. Inoreader, Reeder 4, and New Explorer are all easy to set up with YouTube feeds. I primarily use News Explorer. In my opinion, it is the best RSS app you can get. Lots of bells and whistles and easy to read.
