I'll be honest, I use MobileMe just specifically for Calendar and Contacts sync for my iPhone and all PC's.

The question is, with the premium of $99 for the service, I'm thinking there has to be an alternative and easier way to just have my Calendar and Contacts manageable across my iPhone and several PC's (Outlook).

What are those services and what is the easiest way to go about transitioning off MobileMe because I think it's useless in my point of view (for my use at least).

Email (I use other imap/pop 3 accounts)
iDisk (Easily replaced by SugarSync)
Gallery (Flickr and others out there)

So now I just need a solution for Calendar and Contacts. Granted, I know that there is Google but is that the best option?

Please elaborate thanks!

Google is the easiest and cheapest(free) way to just sync your contact and calendar, although if you use microsoft exchange for any other email accounts or anything you can't use this method. I'm still waiting for google to offer a push gmail service like yahoo does. who knows when we will see that.....

I would agree that using Google's services would be the best bet. They also have a way to sync your calendar and contacts using Google Mobile Sync (Works for iPhone) find out more here.
