Sometimes when i log-out it takes a lot longer than normal it shows the blue screen and spinning gear then it seems like the computer just freezes like the graphics have messed up.

Then a few minuetes later the login window will appear as normall like nothing has happened.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Do you think i should take this imac back or do you think its just some software bug?

*This issue has now been fixed by an apple update

Do you think i should take this machine back to apple to get the graphics card replaced?

Give them a call and see what they suggest. They won't replace the graphics card until they themselves have decided that is the issue. If you are near and Apple store book an appointment and drop in. Otherwise use the telephone. They will probably go through a load of steps like repairing permissions and all sorts of other tedious things so you may need to be on the phone a while.

question:
lets say they find that the gpu is the problem? is that expensive???

i'm running on an iMac Intel Core Duo, ATI Radeon 1600, 128MB VRAM
