Aluminum iMac and Bootcamp

Hello,
I went to my local CompUSA and purchased a new Aluminum iMac. I have been waiting to buy one because of the random shut-offs, since Apple released the firmware update that fixes it I went ahead and bought it. Well everything seems fine on the Leopard side but I have had it still just turn off when in Windows for no apparent reason, I don't know what is causing this happen. I'm really upset because the whole reason I waited to buy one was because of that. Is anyone else having these issues even after the firmware update? And if so has anyone been able to remedy it? I only use the WinXP side to run my games that have not been ported to OSX.

PS it has these specs in case that helps:
* 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 1GB memory
* 320GB hard drive
* 8x double-layer SuperDrive
* ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB memory

Did you install XP? And, does it show the blue screen of death?

Yes I installed XP and no Bluescreen of death, just a complete shut off.

Maybe your installation was faulty. I´d kill the bootcamp partition from os x and go through the motions again. Also I´d invest the 30 dollars or so and get another 1 gb RAM. Your experience will be much better.

I second the ram thing. I went from 1 to 3 gb, and the difference is enormous.

4gb of ram
and no problems with using Windows UE

try to reinstall xp, and read carefully what you have to do ... steps to follow etc

I've reinstalled everything and I still have the problem, I have 90GBs formated in NTFS Windows XP SP2 and all the Windows Updates and Norton AntiVirus completely updated... Not sure what else to do. It powers the computer off there are no error messages at all it just turns off. I don't know what in windows would just turn the computer off. Tiny bit frustrated ... Oh did I mention that Leopard works perfectly .
