Aluminum iMac overheating?

I've got a 20" aluminum, late '07 early '08 model. The top of the case of the computer is, imho, way, WAY too hot.

Is this normal?? 176 degrees!!!!1

I just had a similar issue. Not sure what caused it but for a whole day, fans cranked at startup and case upper left side was super hot. Tried everything I could think of. Finally turned it off and unplugged it from wall for 5 minutes. Plugged it back in and it's been running fine since. This was last Saturday...

Please search. Also, why can't you use Celsius?

Under heavy use, the top left of the machine will get extremely hot.

If it was to overheat, you'd experience freezes and restarts.
