Always on display stuck after sleep

I have AOD turned on, with setting for some complications (such as heart rate data) not to be visible when the wrist is down.
Since updating to 11.0.1 (watch is series 10 in case it is a factor with this), I have noticed that in the morning, when I turn off sleep mode and theatre settings, the AOD does not work properly. The complications that should be hidden with the wrist down never turn off. I can fix this by rebooting the watch, and it will work as intended until the next morning when I again turn off sleep mode and theatre settings.

Has anyone else observed this? Any suggestions for how to fix?

From the lack of any replies, I will guess that this is not a common issue. I'm interested to see if it persists once I update to 11.1 (next week I believe).
